A boutique camp at the foot of Kilimanjaro, Amboseli
Welcome to Sungura Safari Camp — an intimate bush retreat designed for travellers who seek authentic safari living without losing the comfort of a boutique lodge. Set against the majestic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, our camp was created to bring guests closer to the spirit, sounds, and soul of the African wilderness.
Sungura Safari Camp is one of the biggest camps in Amboseli National Park, with 26 rooms in total. That includes 18 tented suites (one of them a dedicated family tent for groups travelling together) and 8 solid-wall cottages.
The camp was built with local hands using materials that fit the landscape. Thatched roofs, wooden furniture, Maasai beadwork on the walls. Every room was designed to feel like it belongs here.
Good food, a warm fire in the evening, and guides who have spent their lives in this ecosystem. That is what we are about.
The park gate is a short drive from camp, and elephant herds often pass nearby on their way to the swamps.
26 rooms in total, from tents to cottages, including a family tent for groups travelling together.
Meals are cooked fresh each day, with vegetables from the camp garden when they're in season.
Our guides grew up around Amboseli and can spot a leopard in the grass long before most guests notice it's there.
After dinner, most guests end up around the campfire, swapping stories about what they saw that day.
